Decatur Holiday Marketplace

Welcome to the 2020 Decatur Holiday Marketplace!   We are so excited to carry on the tradition of this wonderful community event which is in its 29th year.  In light of the current COVID pandemic, we have decided to make this year's event virtual.  The dates for our virtual marketplace will be November 27th at 8 am through December 11th at 5 pm.  During this time, all of our artists' sites will be available for shopping online and will be conveniently located right here on our page.  A description of the shop and owners along with a few wonderful photos of their craft will be available to preview.  If the artist is able to ship their wares after purchase, they will do so, and if not, for our local customers, we will have a special pick up day at the school on December 12th from 10-12.  We re bringing the marketplace straight to your house!

For our artists:

Artist Application

What does this mean for you?  Well, we will be opening up our applications on Monday July 6th, 2020.  The application fee will be $25 dollars.  After the artist has filled out the paperwork, we will review the application and in a change from previous years, we will have a rolling enrollment.  You will hear back from us within five business days regarding your admission to the marketplace by email.  At that time, a invoice will be sent to you if you are admitted for a booth fee of $75.  The invoice will need to be paid within 5 days to assure your spot in this year's amazing event.  We will be closing our application on September 8th, 2020.

What do I get for the booth fee?  We have created a new site that will host the link to your online store along with your description and any photos you provide us.  We will be rotating the order of the artists every time someone logs on to the site to assure equal exposure to your store.  In addition, every week leading up to the marketplace, we will spotlight 2-3 stores on our website, Facebook and Instagram.  We are talking to several of our local publications and will also be promoting the event with ads.  Names or logos of the stores will be included in the ads.

To our community:

We are heartbroken that we will not be able to hold this event in our school this year.  This decision was not made lightly and we have spent many hours trying to find a way to still have this incredible event as safely as possible.  We do hope to have the traditional marketplace return in 2021.  Please join us and our amazing artists in making this the best online marketplace in the state.  We are excited to try to recreate this event virtually and we need your help.
